چکیده
In the serum of S-negative secundi para woman a specific anti-S agglutinin of the IgG type was identified. The same agglutinin was identified in the serum and on the eritrocytes of the newborn with sympthomes of a light Hemolytic disease. Exchange transfusion was not necessary. The anti-S described is an immune warm agglutinin showing the efect of dose and is discovered only by the Coombs technique.

Blueberry Muffin Rash in a Patient with Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn Due to Anti-Cw
Blueberry muffin rash is a characteristic multiple bluish skin nodules associated with perinatal infection, severe and chronic anemia, and neoplastic infiltrative diseases. We present an unusually severe case of hemolytic disease of the newborn. He required exchange transfusions for several times. The complete work up led to the diagnosis of anti-Cw. The skin lesion regressed spontaneously with...
متن کاملImmunologic Basis and Immunoprophy-laxis of RhD Induced Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn (HDN)
RhD antigen is the most immunogenic and clinically significant antigen of red blood cells after ABO system. It has historically been associated with hemolytic disease of the newborn (HDN) which is now routinely prevented by the administration of polyclonal anti-D immunoglobulin. This management of HDN has proven to be one of the most successful cases of prophylactic treatment based on antibody ...
متن کاملAnti-M Alloimmunization: Management and Outcome at a Single Institution
Objective The objective of this study was to review the management strategies and outcomes in gravidas with anti-M alloimmunization over 15 years. Study Design Data collected from 195 pregnant patients with anti-M antibodies from July 2000 through June 2016 were reviewed retrospectively. We analyzed indirect antiglobulin test titer results, paternal or fetal/neonatal M antigen status, antepar...
متن کاملA case of severe haemolytic disease of the newborn due to anti-Di(a) antibody.
Red cell allo-antibodies directed against the Diego (Di) blood group antigen have rarely been reported to cause a haemolytic reaction against transfusion or haemolytic disease of the newborn. The frequency of the Di(a+) phenotype among the Hong Kong Chinese population is estimated to be 4.4%. We report on a case of severe haemolytic disease of the newborn due to anti-Di(a) antibody--the first l...
متن کاملABO haemolytic disease of the newborn.
The charts of newborn infants with positive direct Coombs' test were studied. Only cases in which the mother's blood was group O and the infant's group A or group B were studied. There was no difference between group A and group B infants in the frequency and severity of the hemolytic process caused by maternal antibodies. In group B infants, monospecific antibodies (anti-B) were associated wit...
